Almost There- '95 ez go 48volt conversion to Huntin Cart
Thanks to everyone on the forum and most importantly a friend (Captain Rick) with time and tools, he was able to pull all the info to upgrade a nice '95 EZ Go frame into a 48volt conversion hunting cart with a lot of moral support and beer supplies. All the sponsors of the site were great to work with as we kept ordering part after part. The cheap older model allowed us to stay in budget and order the new beast camo body - i give them their due - awesome camo body - worth every penny. Today we add the final components and rivet the body if all goes well. The anticipation is worth skipping the Daytona 500 today.
Hopefully we can post the final tonight or tomorrow. I am prepared though. If we hit any snags, we will be on the forum looking for the solutions. Thanks to all. I have learned more than I ever dreamed about these machines, and I thought you just put golf bags on them. |

Nice ride. i can't wait to get a final pic of mine to post on my profile. We got down to the top and seat yesterday, but they are white and stick out. i will either try to camo them or go with tan to match the back seat. The good news is all the upgrades worked great. my only mistake was not checking the solenoid amps for the 12 volt system. we took about 6 test rides last night blaring the music until we burnt up the solenoid. my bad for telling the auto parts guy what it was for - he gave me a lawn tractor solenoid.
I noticed in your pic that it looks like a Jeep in the garage. I have a similar set up with my all stock '91 Wrangler with 45k on it. First thing i purchased new when i got my first job after leaving TTU - Lubbock. |

Re: Almost There- '95 ez go 48volt conversion to Huntin Cart
I appreciate the comments. Thanks. Just got back in town and planning on having finished tonight and haul up to camp this weekend. Should be able to get pixs tonight. i am going to post on the ez go section. we are still having an issue with the separate 12volt system. We upgraded the solenoid and still burnt up the new one in about a half day. My gut tells me the ground wire is not strong enough or we need move up to like a 400 amp solenoid. we are running the 12 volt system thru a toggle switch and the only thing hooked to it right now is the stereo and the cigarette lighter/phone charger plug. Any ideas or suggestions would be great.
