Default My workhorse

A few weeks ago I jumped into the cart world, buying a 99 EZGO gas workhorse. Thought this would be something I could use around the acreage, and use while hunting.

I didn't want to lift it too far, yet I wanted bigger tires for off road. I ended up putting the front springs on the axle to gain 2", and made new longer shackles for the back.

Got the front cowling painted camo, and added lights. Took off the side panels under the seat today so I can paint them next. Was going to just do them on the cart and tape everything off, but it seems it will never get warm enough to do that, so I just decided to take them off and get them done. I'll still have the panel in front of the seat, but I may just do that one in place so I don't have to take so much stuff off.

It all starts so innocently! My Dad bought a cart in '99,a few weeks later he says "Look at the cool hub-caps i bought".Now he has about 8 carts,2 with V-Twins in them! For X-Mas I found a T-Shirt that says "It all started with a set of hub-caps". He almost wet himself! Enjoy your cart, they are a blast.Keep the pics comin, looks good so-far.

I'm hoping to get some stuff put back together this weekend. Should have my new tires and rims by then too.

Got me tires and rims today. Ended up getting some used 22-11-10 Mud Lites and rims. I set the front cowling in place to check clearance. Front looks good, but back will be another matter. Have to modify things a bit there.

The back fender, like the front was just sitting loose on the cart so I could see if things would work. Before I attach the back fenders, I'll have to do something.

When I got the tires I was told to make sure they clear he front because they are wider and flatter. Had no problem there, but I did find if I tried a hard left turn the inside of the tire would hit the brake peddle where it comes out under the floor. I had to crank it pretty far to get it to hit, and it appears just the outside edge of the lug would clip it. So no real hard left turns.

you should probly just adjust your steering stops to keep you (or who ever might drive your cart) from doing that. I know you will probly remember but you never know in the future who might drive it and either you forget to tell them because you just dont turn that hard out of habit or they forget after you already told them because people are stupid.

I wouldn't change the steering stops. later you may lift more or go with a different tire and wish you hadn't modified the steering stop. Besides you can turn hard left .... you just can't brake while doing so LOL

Looking Good
