Default A Rear Speaker Pod Is Born

The temperature finally dropped below a hundred degrees for a few days and I was able to spend some time in the garage. Here is a pod I have started for the rear speakers I am going to add to the roof. It is fresh out of the mold now I have to make it look nice.

It is indeed fiberglass and as for the mold i used the actual roof for the top side of the pod. The bottom side was hand formed using fleece and layers of woven glass mat. I have now started the body work and should be making cuts for the speakers & starting the grilles. I will post pictures of the progress.

Got the speaker holes cut and the grilles fit and bonded in. I have started the bodywork and will hopefully have it finish sanded tonight. More pics to come.

Thanks. About 2 1/2 hours of sanding and it is just about ready for paint tomorrow.

That is very cool! Nice job. Makes me itch just thinking about sanding that glass though.
