Ok, I am new but been hanging around checking out all of the great cart ideas for awhile. Outstanding stuff!
I just started converting the slow 36V electric I had to gas. If I wasn't so excited about all of this I would have taken more before pics! My plan was to take my modestly lifted (4") G16 and convert to gas big block. Turns out I just wanted to play with this. I took a rolled 1986 Honda 250sx 3 wheeler and gutted the cart to take the Honda (all but front forks) and see what happens. The bike has everything needed including electric starter. (also has a kick start) I mat LEAVE it for $hits and Giggles!! you never know when you maay leave the lights on to kill the battery!! Well, I just realized I wasn't sharing the build, so I thought I would try now. Welded all together. 3" rhino wheel spacers to clear the wheel wells. waiting on alot of parts, but engine and rearend are in. ezgo gas tank was a perfect fit. Still working on the shifter design as it has 5 gears +Rev with auto clutch. Neighbor is a fabricator grease monkey and loves playing with this as much as I am enjoying it now. No plans written down just building as we go. Here are some pics. I will try to keep up until completed. But I am like a kid in a candy store and can't get enough or slow down!! One pic is the left overs that we plan on using to make a 36V trike. forks from honda are not shown but good. Last edited by yamahonda; 06-05-2008 at 03:42 PM. Reason: adding more |

Very Cool Build ! Thanks for sharing. Why change the fuel tank to Ezgo ? Would the stock Yamaha cause interferance ? You said this is an Auto? Maybe someone here has an idea or two for an air shifter. If you can..more pic's and comments on you project. Later Dave

Thanks all. I will try to get more pics as soon as I can.
SmallBlock, This used to be a 36V electric. The stock gas tank must have been stolen before I got it!! Any ideas on the shifter would be well received! |

What kind of power would 250cc put out in a cart. I would think you would need atleast 300cc in a cart to be able to have any power. Maybe Im wrong?
Either way, sweet project!! Be sure to post a video of that bad boy revving up. |
