2001.5 TXT Resto / Custom Build
Had an invite when I joined for photos of the project. Now that I am in the final stages of the rebuild/resto, forthcoming will be a sampling from photos throughout the process. Enjoy.
Started with this - a stock, unmolested 2001.5 TXT. Goal was simply to "fix it up a little" for use as pit transportation at the racetrack, and cruising around the neighborhood. Well, BGW changed all that quickly |

Teardown. Hello 10+ years of sand, dirt, and a little rust on the frame and floor.
The only surprise I was left in the "secret compartment" behind the dash and under the front body was an empty pack of Marlboro reds, and a few golf tees; dang, no Rolex |

The trusty little Robin 295cc was in great shape, but just not enough for going WILD. It went to a good new home to another BGW member.

Time to pause on the chassis and address the rear end.
Pleasantly surprised at how good of shape it was in. Installed higher ratio gear set, Nivel limited slip kit, new oil seals. Bearings all seemed to be in great condition, so did not replace any. Hopefully, I won't regret that decision. Finished rear end - center housings and axle tubes cleaned and painted. |

Looking good! Which gears set did you use? And what motor is going in this cart?
