Cool New font axle lift

Well the new axle I ordered was not the right one so I sent it back to B/U!!!!?

I ordered it from Jakes lifts a sponsor on here. Don't understand why I'm sending it back to Buggies Unlimited though!

Any way I thought about modifing the new one but decided to get my money back instead and use the free one I got last weekend from a local cart shop. It set's the front up a litlle over a 1" more than the old one.
We modified about everything on it except for the shock mounts and knockles. I have 13 1/2" of clearance under the front axle now.
The axle is for a later model so we welded the bolt plate to the flate plate on the axle. I also added a 3/4" bar into the spring perch for a little more lift and to help stiffen the spring up some. Welded a hitch reciever to the center plate to install a winch later maybe.
Since it was a later model axle we had to drill the knockles out for the 3/4" bolts for the spindales they were also to short so 2 - 1" spacers were placed under the spindal. This in turn gave me enough clearance on the tie rods to clear good.
I'm thinking about moving the shock mounts out further also to help with turning to keep the cart level. My welding has come a long ways in the past week. I can put down dimes now when I weld!

Cart looks Awesome!!!What size tires/wheels are you running? Jakes',Buggies-Unlimited,Everything-Carts,All-Sport and a few others have all been bought by Nival,A huge wholesale cart supplier.Thats why their catalogs are so similar.

They may sell stuff but I don't think Steve sold out to them. If he did it's been resently.
You never know though.

Cool Re: New font axle lift

Thanks everybody,
The cart is 72 volts and it has performed well at both CAW rides. I bent the axle on the first one but kept riding. Now it's a one hand steering machine. I still have to get some more mods done before July 19 though!

Cool Re: New font axle lift

Well after much thoughts and looking I have decided to add new front heavy duty springs to it and see if that levels it out. There is almost a 1/2" differance between the drivers side and passenger side.

I ordered these today from PQ.

Never saw a three-leaf for the front before (or have I?). Wonder how stiff they ride...
