My 1995 EZGO Medalist "journal"
I wanted a place to have the progress of my buggie from day one till ........
Figured this was the best way to do it. I'm going to post all upgrades and mods I did in the order I did them and will update the thread as I do more. Easy way for me to reminisce Day one - found the cart on Craigslist and brought 'er home |

First thing I wanted to change out was the vinyl, looking for an all white look. Ordered - install is super simple, staple gun and your on your way

Windshield was original, yellow and cracked. It squeaked like a door in a historic home at any speed. Went with the tinted windshield.
Install was a beotch until I figured out the correct way to do it. DO NOT try to squeeze the new shield into the old holders. All has to go on at the same time. |

Re: My 1995 EZGO Medalist "journal"
Now, no more squeaky shield - but was feeling the need for speed - especially after browsing through this site.
Did a bunch of research and decided to get a D&D high speed motor, HD FNR, All Trax AXE programmable 400 amp controller and new solenoid. Install? it sucked http://www.buggiesgonewild.com/elect...r-working.html Wires were a tangled mess and sure weren't pretty, but I finally got it running again |

Re: My 1995 EZGO Medalist "journal"
May have come before the motor upgrade, but I needed some tunes man!
Didn't want to deal with running wire, so did some researching into bluetooth rechargeable speakers. Ended up finding a logitech that fits perfect under the cup holders and is loud enough to not offend. Whole mod here: http://www.buggiesgonewild.com/elect...n-recieve.html The bluetooth from the phone or my iPad is great. One button to turn on the speaker and your rocking |

Re: My 1995 EZGO Medalist "journal"
Having the bluetooth was great, but need a way to keep the iPad held in the cart somehow. They make cup holder iPad holders with long arms that support the device, but I didn't like the look.
Realized that an iPad clip I had worked great on the standard steering wheel. Drilled a few simple holes, and viola!! iPad customized steering wheel. Now I have speedo, gps, internet, music, you name it! Thread here: http://www.buggiesgonewild.com/elect...box-cheap.html |

Re: My 1995 EZGO Medalist "journal"
I have an older garage door opener with this big clunky Genie remote - was ugly and got sick of moving it from the car to the cart every time I went out. Stumbled upon this EZG motorcycle remote and purchased immediately. Install was as easy as could be - a drill bit and a zip tie. Program the remote pins to match your code and you've got a Golf Cart Homelink system
Thread here: http://www.buggiesgonewild.com/elect...link-cart.html For some reason people get a real kick out of it, I guess I do too |

Re: My 1995 EZGO Medalist "journal"
Time for some new rims and rubber!!
My front passenger tire was wearing extremely fast - probably due to too much air (was trying to gain an extra mph). Looking for new rubber I realized that packages made more sense - and who doesn't want new rims? Ended up getting 12" STI HD3's w/ 22" Sahara's and LOVE them. Cart rode SO much better and steering was greatly improved. And of course... they really look the part Thread: http://www.buggiesgonewild.com/elect...eel-combo.html Now I get more compliments on my wheels then on my cart! |

Re: My 1995 EZGO Medalist "journal"
With the new rims on, Wifey noticed the cart was leaning a bit. I thought it was my garage floor (it does slope right to left a tad) - but realized - hey, this gives me a reason to get some coil overs!! Bought coil overs for the front and new standard shocks for the rear.
REALLY like the look of the coil over, and it lifted the body off the frame by another inch to 2". Install was a bit of a pain, but nothing too bad. OT: http://www.buggiesgonewild.com/elect...-new-toys.html These coil overs are great, WHAT a better ride - especially off road! |

Re: My 1995 EZGO Medalist "journal"
The cart is used mainly to show property (I'm a Real Estate Broker) in my community. I meet buyers at the gate for access and they follow me through the community to my listings. One day some smartass says "don't you have blinkers on that thing"
At that point I had kind of gotten over the street legal thing. And the turn signal set up was over $250. But man do I hate when someone tries me.. I HAD to have them now Found a great deal. I am lucky enough that the cart had factory light kit with the harness under cup holder. VERY easy install. Had one issue, but Kernal pointed me in the right direction - or should I say directional This was done at same time as coil overs, same thread: http://www.buggiesgonewild.com/elect...ew-toys-2.html If you install, the wiring of the rear lights has to be run differently then stock. Very simple, but good to know. Wiring diagram to get them working right here: http://goo.gl/VV99I |
