My '87 Club Car
Just thread I created to drop pics of my latest aquisition. A 1987 Club Car (DS?). Motor is currently blown and I'd like to:
#1. Get it running. #2. Put a small lift and some larger tires on it. |

You will have a nice project. I like that old Blazer parked next to it.

Assuming your from Canal Fulton here in Ohio? If so,I am about 45 minutes north of you in Richfield. Do you need any specific parts? I may be able to help.

Re: My '87 Club Car
Yes I'm in Ohio! Thank you. You don't happen to have a good KF82 motor lying around do you? Mine's destroyed. These motors seem pretty darn hard to find.
Here's my engine teardown thread: http://www.buggiesgonewild.com/gas-c...oval-kf82.html |

Re: My '87 Club Car
Well I got it running today! I've been driving around my 1-acre yard all afternoon like a huge dork. Special thanks to Chris (slim67) for the parts hookup. Had it not been for him I'd probably still be hunting parts.
Here's a quick first-person video I took in my yard earlier. The camera stumble at 1:38 is me accidently stepping backwards into a drainage ditch next to my driveway : |

Re: My '87 Club Car
Found a funny thing this morning, all day yesterday while I was driving the cart around my yard, the carburetor wasn't even bolted on! It was just hanging on the studs with no nuts...lol. I was kind of wondering why it stumbled at times and didn't seem as powerful as it should have been.
Now that the carb is properly fastened, it runs like brand new, lots of power! |

Re: My '87 Club Car
I got my cart for free too ck! Only have about $200 total in it so far. Yeah my grass was starting to get brown earlier in the summer, but it recovered now that we've had good rains recently.
Ran into an issue yesterday and had to pull the motor back out, apparently the crankshaft I used in my motor was more worn out than it looked, the rod was not snug on the journal even when the bolts were torqued down, it was making an intermittent rattling sound at high rpms. But I replaced the crank with another crank I had, and the rod snugged up nice and the motor seems much better behaved. Haven't driven it just yet with the new crank (haven't put the body back on yet). Hope to have it back together by Sunday. |
