Sally an Alley cruiser..
I have now had this cart since April. She is a basic green 36v maintenance cart.
This cart has been a ultra low budget cart. Most of my "upgrades" have been found items, or stuff left over from other projects. Her primary use is for traveling around town usually through the awesome network of bumpy alleys. We take her downtown often, and have even created a few special parking places when there is no parking. Currently I am working on refining the mobile sound and light show for various events we go to. I am starting this thread to keep track of my progress.. or maybe I can help some fellow folks with some tips on what not to do for example old marine stereos... The first pic is how she looked when I first got her. |

Ok at first I had all these components left from a boat. GPS, radio.. seemed like a good idea.
Then after some trades I found some more stuff.. 8" rims and 10"rims.. then I learned the hard way about spacers and one rim was not offset., but I no longer had issues with raised manhole covers... wow looking back, those tires really did have a some meat on them.. |

ok our first trip.. I still don't know how my 4 banger towed that heavy trailer, but we did make the trek to north florida 2 times without an issue with the uhaul..

Sally's friend GEM had a charger malfunction one morning, Lemons and lemonade.. got to feel what 12" street tires feel like up front. yes 72volt system still works, needs 2 batteries.. but its not to compatible with the ezgo .. .. so nice being able to make full turns without digging into the fenders.. oh yeah, spotted this cool Chevy truck exploring the alleys http://www.buggiesgonewild.com/image...s/thumbsup.gif

ok almost caught up to current..
first attemp to cleanup the dash.. and finally got around to taking the hood and roof off. now to really work on the wires.. mounting the amp in the drivers cubby, should be better for moisture, but not sure about the heat... not using any stereo these days, just an amp. found some rust and found 2 cans of black metallic rustoleum paint in an cabinet, will use those after a run with a wire wheel. ...hopefully the weather will start cooperate.. currently the driveway is in the sun from 11-5 |

ok finally todays .. now i finally feel everything is in its place.. the weather has been pretty bad. still I managed to relocate all my wires to the drivers cubby, I lost a bunch of toggles, i am not to happy using only 1 toggle for all my accessories, and one for the amp. converted the stock light wire to be the state of charge meter. relocated the key next to the F/R lever. also installed a glove box in the giant hole I created in the middle of the dash. made a temporary hood because I still need to drive her every day across town for some side jobs. .. not sure what to do about the roof the rood had some cracks around the bolts that caused water to drip when the cart was in motion. so current projects are install 60ft of LED lights, and make a roof frame for the lights and maybe do a canvas bimini type top. also I know a 48v upgrade is definitely coming, theres a bridge I want to cross. |

Painting is coming along not so great.. silver is pretty tricky.. next step is going to be to see if I can swap the steering wheel, cluster, and seats... might have to ask for some design help.. for creative way to mount these front seats..

Well thanks to what others posted, the EZgo steering wheel was a breeze to remove. but the other wheel might require some sort of puller..
