Yamaha G16 Project
Having recently just finished "Our G9 Project"..I came across this 1998 G16 ...with a blown engine. Here is the scoop. Perhaps I have been bitten by the cart bug more than I want to admit. Okay...I have. After finding myself looking thru Craigslist and other classifieds I found this cart for sale along with an old 2 stroke EZ Go (on no)! and a Polaris 488 fan sled engine..package deal..675.00 bucks. The EZ GO ran..no clue as to the year of it. In the end I paid 400.00 for the whole package. After a 2 hour trip into Northern Vermont it landed home; the EZ GO I sold to a co worker. Here are a couple pics.

Re: Yamaha G16 Project
Thanks! I have been thinking about transplanting a 340 Polaris Fan Cooled into the the Yamaha....seems to be enough room in there for it. I have the entire donor sled so all the various parts are there...

Re: Yamaha G16 Project
You are right, there are some good ones out there. I have been checking into this idea of a transplant for awhile, as well as a big block too. It was just luck I found a cart for cheap money with no engine. I guess my big concern is the exhaust...don"t want it TOO loud and want it out of the way as much as possible.

Re: Yamaha G16 Project
My last two stroke sled was a Ski Doo Grand Touring SE 800...actually pretty quiet. However the exhaust system was huge..plus with the snow and and such was not too bad. Switched to 4 stroke after that..completly different animal!

Re: Yamaha G16 Project
Some of those tripples were actually much quieter than the twins.
Thanks for the kind words |
