Pit Bull Buggy
Well, since Pocket Aces noted that I had 392 post before buying cart and I finally purchased one today I figured I make a thread.
I picked it up for $850 off of an add on craigslist. The add says it's a 1999 Workhorse 2 cycle, description says "runs good with powerful 2 cylinder gas motor.. newer starter, fuel pump, shift cables, tires good with a spare, brakes good...newer battery..dump box with liner lights.. hitch....roof...half windshield...no tail gate..rip in seat" Cart has some rust on the bottom of the dump bed and some spots on the frame. Engine starts right up and runs well from the little time I did run it. There is some squeaking that sounds like it's the brakes grabbing when the cart is moving. The front suspension seems to sit lower than others i've seen pictures of, specifically the driver side which allows the tire to almost scrub the fender even on level ground. So here's the pictures, there will be more to come once I start tearing into it. |

Re: Pit Bull Buggy
Thanks Arin. Plans...i've looked at the Jake's LT kits, but I would like a lift that would clear 27" or bigger tires. Brush guard, new seats, paint, nice wheels/off road tires, BB engine, dash kit, stereo, air compressor, train horns, accent lights... I'm sure there's more but I can't really think of it right now.
So who's making the tallest lift kit? I remember someone saying there was a 10" kit out there somewhere. |

Re: Pit Bull Buggy
10"? Serious? Never seen one sold that high.
Great start. Good luck on the build! Did you decide what motor your going to run yet? |

Re: Pit Bull Buggy
I'd settle for 8" lift, there has to be something out there. I guess if all else fail, i'd run 26" tires on what ever lift will fit them.
I haven't decided on an engine yet, once I do more research and get some feedback from others i'll make a decision. |

Re: Pit Bull Buggy
If you are wanting 10" of lift I say find you a 4 wheeler and make it the donor for the cart. that way you get the lift, brakes, engine, maybe rims and tires if you so want. that may be the best route.

Re: Pit Bull Buggy
4 wheeler suspension will give that much lift? I'm not sure if I want to go that far with fab work. I'll take the tallest out of box kit I can get.

Best ones I've seen include:
http://strechplastics.com/Lift%20Kits.htm http://www.badassgolf.com/lkinfo.php?id=1 http://www.rootengineering.com/LTGC%20Kit.html Used be a company called Terra Toys. You might find a used one around but I don't think anything new has been done in years. |
