93 marathon custom camo gasser
This is my first build and first post here so ill do my best to explain what all ive done.
starte off with trading a old motorcycle 650 yahama for this typical golf cart. i paid 650 for the motorcycle 2 years ago and drove it all over, didnt do a thing to it besides change oil and battery. i know when i got it it wasnt nothing fancy but it ran , and runs good, thats what i cared about the most. after a short time i decided to give it a custom paint job, i was thinking of grey or black, but i just see too many of them with super bright paint or that hot rod theme going for it, so i figured i would go a different route, and being i love outdoors i decided to go with a camo , which ive done this paint setup before on guns and other items so i already knew the process needed. for the short time decided to spraypaint the seats black to match the new paint as well, since i didnt want to spend 150 to recover a perfect seat. which im super happy about that, came out clean and still looks great 6 months later, just one small crack in that paint on the seat which im shocked about. after i was happy with the paint, next step was tires and wheels, i was going to lift up the cart, 4-5 " and get a set of 22" tires fore stock wheels, i spent about a hour figting to get one of the tires off the wheels and after alot of waisted time and using all the tools i could think of, and catching a tire on fire, i decided this wasnt the option for me and bought a set of new tires and wheels combo , this way there 10" wheels , steel black, and they fit the theme perfectly. and last part was doing the lift kit which was super easy. 5" lift off ebay. few things to come cd player install (just opened a thread on that) front headlights and a break running light (there installed just dont have pics of it yet) new shocks on front and rear. rear seat modification so i can still keep flatbed too. |

Re: 93 marathon custom camo gasser
I have a 36 v ezgo and bought it with the 22x10 tires, sooooo, that being said, I dont know what stock power felt like with the smaller tires and better gear ratio becaue of the smaller diameter.
Mine rides and drives fine, but doesnt have the horsepower to really pull the bigger tires and gear ratio on the top end. Runs fine at a certain speed....slow What was your thoughts or feelings on power difference with the tire swap? I might go back to stock size on mine. |

5" lift = Monroe 31000 and 31125 shocks (2 each for front and rear), You'll need to reuse the rear lower shock bushings but other than that it's a bolt-in.
they worked great for mine and very cheap whe i ordered thm all at once from rockauto.com just punch in the shock part numbers.. cart looks real good, mine was much uglyer when i got it than yours was i have a 420cc clone now and lovin the extra power, and gettin a wheel is fun too.. |
