Default 1977 Marathon

Just picked this up for, well, $ 0.00
My brother has a machine shop and one of his machinists dumped this behind
his shop 5+ years ago, he quit a year later and it’s been sitting ever since.
It has no engine in it so I had a plan to install a big block, but after talking to my brother, he said the cart was 100% complete when he got it.
I asked where the engine is and it’s been in the shop in pieces since he got it, said he paid $100 for the cart. Appears to be a 1977, Marathon S/N: 770919
The engine was froze solid, after he got it apart moisture had gotten in the bottom end and locked up all 4 engine bearings.
The plan is to get the engine together and get it running before I spend anything on lift/tires
I’ve ordered bearings and a rebuild kit, should be here today.
If there’s anything wrong with the internal starter, fortunately I have an Uncle who owns a company called DC Systems, that’s all he does. My cousin is a Technician who goes out and fixes anything DC

Keito, you got a real fixer-upper!! looks like a good project. Just a little advice/suggestion, before you put a motor back in it, since its been sitting out in the weather and weeds, take the time to pull the body off and all the electrical stuff, clean the frame up and instect it real good, prime and paint it, even if its with Rustolem and a brush. in the long run, it will be worth the time.

oh and btw......CONGRATS on your ride and Welcome to our happy little corner of the net, and to BGW. There is a BIG fridge on the back porch with anything you can think of in it...help yourself...of course only take what you can LEGALLY have. Make yourself at home on one of the big fluffy couches, kick your shoes off, put your feet up on one of the tables, yes we are allowed to do that, mom's, dad's, wive's, husband's, girlfriend's and boyfriend's here don't care....and take it easy.

oh...btw....every once in a while a food fight breaks out...so you may not want to wear nice clothes here.

Welcome!!

Thanks guys!
Without finding this forum, I doubt I would have tried to fix it.
I plan on dropping the motor in to make sure everything is good then removing it for
the mild restoration. I have a can of POR 15 left over from a project, I'll use that on the frame.
UPS dropped off my package of goodies last night, + .5mm oversize piston, gaskets and
a fuel pump rebuild kit
Time to head to my engine shop to bore the cylinder and get the engine parts
tanked for clean up. The crank looks a little rough, I'll need to take it down to my brother's shop and chuck it up in the lathe for a light polish.

Rebuild parts came.
Noticed after I opened up the box they didn't send the reed valve gaskets
gotta check on that.
Hopefully I'll get the parts dropped off at the shop to throw in the parts tank
to get cleaned
