I keep looking at going to a big block or swapping it out for a motorcycle/atv engine, but everytime i look on cl i see really really nice carts with big blocks with lift kits, nice rims, nice paint, nice upholstery for around 3k...

kinda not worth doing all the work myself....

It all depends on your budget, ability, time, and if you care about using used stuff-vs-new.I did my BB swap for almost free, due to parts swaps and some great deals. My Dad had a junk G2 that I pulled the axle from, the motor he got in a trade, had nothing invested. You can find deals on used motors, check mower-shops,alot of the small ones have boneyards with good motors very cheap. You can get a new Clone under $400,buy a clutch adapter($50) to reuse your clutch, and make your own motor-plate.You can be up and running for under $750.I've got $1500 in my whole cart (dump-bed,rear-bumper with hitch,Big Block,5"lift w/drop-axle,22"tires,offset-wheels on the rear,TXT-body),and I built or replaced everything except the frame and swing-arm!It looks good, its' not a flashy show-cart,but its' clean, respectable, and works. It was an absolute POS when I brought it home.It can be done.

ive been scouring CL for motorcycle engines.. but nothing's popped up thats affordable... but i'm sure after the holidays i'll have more time to actually visit the yard sales and swap meets.. maybe i'll come across a good engine on the cheap.

anyhow, i need you guys to just pretty much make a list of everything i need to do, post pictures of step by step instructions, and if possible, just come to my house and do it for me.

i've been going through the threads and have a working idea of what i need to to..
pretty much have to call tom at cpp and get most of the parts shipped in.

Thanks! I'm excited and worried as i've never messed with engines before, but i'll just dive with both feet in.
I'll start a thread in the big block section once i get started to document the progress and bombard everyone with questions
:)

Tires r 27 inches tall, I hit 47.7 mph on the gps but I think it will do 50+, I had my wife with me and she was getting scared at that speed.
