| ![]() Well I guess this is about the only place to read up on it since it was a trial and error (more error) home build. Short story, electric starter from a Goldwing (1984 to 87 1200 with sprocket close enough match for a #30 chain). A high current semiconductor relay (I put 2 in parallel). Need to build a pulse with modulated circuit ( I used a 555 timer IC). Now you need a gear clutch of some sort. I used one from Dayton pretty pricey ~400 bucks. Use a cable to engage gear clutch. Set up two motorcycle break light switches on clutch engagement arm. First switch activates PWM to run motor at a slow speed and allow clutch to engage. After clutch engages close the second switch to fully power SCR and rum motor at full speed. It works but is expensive and a pain in the royal purple to get right.
