I am starting a build of this EzGo TXT electric for my family and I to use around the neighborhood. With inspection and registration, we are allowed to use the cart all over town, following simple guidelines.
My wife is a teacher and will be teaching at the brand new elementary school that is in our neighborhood. Our son will be in first grade there next school year. They intend to take the cart to school when weather permits.
Other use will be trips to the parks, pools, friends, etc.

I was given the cart several months ago. I had brand new batteries installed, along with fresh cables. I also got a charger for it since it did not have one. The cart shop did a once over on it and gave it a clean bill of health.



The basic plan is to strip it down, clean up the main structure, bedliner the body, and then start adding some upgrades.
It will get a 5" lift with HD springs, 23" tires and wheels, headlights and tail lights, steering wheel, windshield, new black front seats, a flip flop rear seat also in black, seat belts, a stereo, a new dash, and a couple other goodies.
The parts ordering will commence as soon as I finish this post.


I am interested in stepping the speed up a bit. If anyone can point me in the right direction on that, I would be grateful.

So far, I have ordered the MadJax headlight/tail light kit, MJ tinted windshield kit, MJ front and rear retractable seatbelts with bar, and 5 panel mirror.
Had to run after that.
Next on the list is getting the rear MadJax flip seat ordered and front seats to match (stock not in good shape to refurb), fender flares, and lift kit.

I ordered everything from eBay so far. Mostly the same prices (some lower) as I found anywhere else, but free shipping on everything. If anyone has suggestion of the best place to order....let me know.

I need to spend some time looking in to what I am going to do with the dash. I am thinking pretty simple, but I plan to mount the radio in the stock ball cutout area. I wouldn't mind having 'glovebox' doors on the right and left as well.

The plastic is fairly rough, so a full cover or replacement dash would be ideal.

I would rather have something just painted black, but all I have found is carbon fiber or wood grain. I suppose I could take either and just have it painted.

I am thinking about building speaker pods either below the glove boxes or above, connected to the roof.

I might take one of those dash covers, fiberglass the speaker pods where I want them connected to that dash, and then have it painted.

I have a LED light bar going where the 'ezgo' badge is on the front of the cart.


When it comes to wiring the lightbar and radio (and anything else I add), do I need a voltage reducer, or just tap into the same place I use for the MJ light kit?

Ordered a 6" drop axle lift kit from JZM on ebay. The reviews were all great and looks just like the 5" kit from Jakes. Went out on a limb with it to save $100.

All of the stock plastic stuff....bag liner, rear access panel cover, hip restraints/arm rests, floor liner, bumper, rockers, etc are all in sad shape, so I placed an order with buggiesunlimited.com and shopezgo.com for replacement parts.



I am going to need to source a hardware kit when I see how much (if any) these orders come with.

All that is left to order is new shocks, a steering wheel, the rear seat and matching front seats, a new dash setup, and the stereo stuff.


I am considering something like this for the dash. It solves the speaker and radio mounting needs, offers a small storage space, and just cleans the whole area up.









I don't think anyone is following, but I always document my builds...so I am going to continue.

You can get those annoying plastic Christmas tree panel holders at an autoparts store. That's what is holding the bag well liner and fender protectors. If you're planning to pull the body off there is a rivet kit you can buy for about $15 that has all the rivets you'll need to reassemble the cart.

I can't help to much w/ the voltage reducer as mine is a gas cart. Looking forward to seeing your progress.
