My 91 Club Car build for the lake
Picked up a cart about two weeks ago to take down to the lake. That seems to be the most prevalent mode of transportation down there. Last year I took my scooter down, but we really needed 4 seats for everyone to be able to enjoy it.
Parents used to have a club car, then they sold it and bought a new yamaha in 09. The yamaha wants to do wheelies with people in the backseat going up hills, and generally just doesn't handle the gravel with as much ease. The EZ go's down there have all been beat up pretty good. But in my experience with them, everything is loose. So I knew I wanted a club car. The Club car as I bought it. Runs good, body has been replaced within the last few years. Body-wise it definitely looks newer then 91. It was originally green. Already has an aftermarket steering wheel that will go well with the rest of the build. Overall, the governor doesn't appear messed with, and everything seems pretty complete. I mean, other then there not being a top. I'm working with limited space in the garage until I take it down to the lake so I ordered a slew of parts and just got right to work. Rebuilt the steering column, there was about a 1/4" of wobble at the top of the shaft. It's nice n stiff now, virtually no movement. Then onto the hubcaps. Wheels and tires will be the last thing to go on, as I might as well wear these tires out first. Old hubcaps White wheels, that went with the green body. Sprayed them black with plastidip And the new hubcaps.. Nothing special, little more modern. Replaced the floormat Since this thing will see a lot of cruising, I put in a dash kit with cd/bluetooth deck and speakers. Can't actually mount the speakers until I get the front rail on.. But they sat well enough for pictures and testing out the deck. Switches for the idle mod, an amplified antenna for the radio, and the lights. Dash turned out sweet, just put two screws through the back of the cupholder/console to hold it in place. Rear seat kit going in.. It's gotta hold 4 people. The only piece in the kit like this.. Where a solid aluminum tube, slides into this one, then gets bolted. Thing got smashed in transit. With some convinving I was able to beat it back into shape and get the rail slid in. Got jipped a couple bolts for the other rear seat back.. I'll pick those up from the hardware store. You may also notice, the taillight lenses have been missing during this process. Got the seat back taken care of, and mounted some rear armrests/cupholders. Tinted the taillights with VHT niteshades. That's about it for visual changes as of now.. I'm still waiting on a black front seat to match the rear. And I've got black roof rails ready to go along with a black 88" roof, tinted windshield, and rear view mirror. Going to wait to attach all that until I get to the lake, so the wind doesn't break anything on the way down. I've also replaced the air filter, spark plug, engine oil, diff and tranny oil and fuel filter. She's almost ready to go. I'll be trailering it down this weekend, hopefully I've got the seat by then and the top goes on without any issues. I'll have a couple more pics once I get down there and get it completed. |

Really nice job. May I ask where you got your rear seat kit?
