Re: Club Car DS budget build!
gragner, zip-tying the governor spring for more speed is by far the BEST thing I've ever done to a gas cart, and it costs pennies!! Here's a good thread with pics and the procedures for doing it safely.

Re: Club Car DS budget build!
I picked up a Yamaha G22 about a month ago, and I'm trying to keep the costs low also.
Here's a list of the items I've picked up...(so far). $520 12" aluminum wheels w/ 23" all terrain tires. (low profile, street tires are quite a bit cheaper) $220 6" All Sports lift $ 40 Up To Par vinyl seat covers $ 50 Grant steering wheel & mount (summitracing) $125 Light kit $ 60 Diamond plate rockers $ 75 Paint $ 0.10 Zip Tie So I've got around $1,100 in mods so far. I could have went with low profile tires, no lift kit, and less expensive light kit (or none at all) and had much less invested. All depends on what you want to do with it. Looks like you have a good foundation to start with. |

Re: Club Car DS budget build!
That budget is not even addressing the mechanical upgrades needed for the lift kit....machined clutches, upgraded springs and drive belt, etc.
