New 2 Me 07 EZGO PDS (I think)
Hello everyone.
I have been searching for a golf cart for quite some time as we really do need one at the campsite. I picked this up, and was wondering if anyone could give me some insight by the pics. It is an 07 PDS with the switch on the dash board. It has had some work on it already and can do 30 easy. Question is, golf cart ownership is new to me, so what should I do first as far as maintenance? It has an onboard battery charger/conditioner. I will be researching that next. But trying to figure out what kind of controller I have. Any input, guidance will be greatly appreciated. Regards, Mancebo |

I like the cart, nice DCX upgrade but ..... junk that 4 amp charger or resign yourself to a short battery pack life.
The charger was not designed for golf cart batteries. I does not put out enough amperage or charge in the correct algorithm. Got an 08 PDS myself running on 42v - We love it. |

Scottyb,
Thanks for the heads up. I did a quck search and could not find any carts with that particular charger set up, which I found odd. The batteries "are" a year old, installed last August. Based on what your telling me their life expectancy could be affected. Time to search for a charger. The good thing is the OEM charge port is still there. Are the chargers interchangeable for EZGO, Club Car and Yamaha? |

If I am looking at your controller pic correctly, I don't see the diode between the small terminals on the solenoid. You might check into that. My opinion, get rid of that "boat" charger and get you a good DPI charger from ScottyB at Carts Unlimited.

That must be the eagle eye at work Get a 3 amp diode in place there. Be mindful of polarity when installing it.

Look all the way down on the bottom of the page. It explains the diode with a picture. |

Ordered the diode from scottb. Real nice guy and down to earth. Will definitely be buying a charger when the wallet permits. Did the seat covers last weekend, this weekend brakes and diode.

Re: New 2 Me 07 EZGO PDS (I think)
Well Brakes were done. That was fun getting the drum nut off. After all was said and done, the brakes were fine. i changed them strictly because I was already in there. I didn't realize there was a brake adjustment just behind the pedal under the driver. So once I adjusted that, all is good.
Now on to this weeks project. Heavy duty leaf springs. I know my rear is shot as it has the seat on it and the stock leaf is just flat. The cart is so bouncy it is a joke. So those are coming off. I ordered the kit that has the bushings and fronts as well for $99 off amazon and look forward to attacking that this weekend. The rear look simple enough, but the fronts have me concerned. I searched, and can't find anyone and their helpful hints. Has anyone done the leaf springs on an EZGO TXT that can chime in and let me know what to look for, or what to avoid? And will I have to align the front end afterward? if so, can someone link that as well. Please and thanks to all of you for your assistance, but more importantly, your patience. |
