2010 Yamaha Build 48V Electric
So I've recently relocated to Upstate South Carolina and snuck out and bought a 2010 Yamaha 48V golf cart that seems to have come right off a golf course.
(tried to link to photo bucket but I have to be a registered member for 7 days) so just imagine the awesomeness of a beat up off the course mildewy cover and ripped seat 2010 Yammy with a janky half falling off yamaha sticker on the front! This is a small test build for me and my boys to tear apart and rebuild. I'm new to all of this and have been creeping all of these threads but it is really hard to keep it all straight. With 3 boys under the age of 10, not too worried about speed, but we do live in a hilly area so need to think about maybe getting some more torque, need to keep the lift to a minimum if any (saw some nice photos of non-lifted carts wiht some bad a$$ tires), lights, paint, rehab of the interior dash and seats. Looks like it has stock trojan batteries, I'll have to double check but I think it is the least sought after 4-12v combination. Feel free to pass along any information you want, it will be a long slow painful rebuild, but we are committed to it. Thanks for looking and sharing! |

Re: 2010 Yamaha Build 48V Electric
Newb---First, congrats on the new cart and welcome to the forum. You will probably not see a lot of posts about YDRE/G29's. Either they are really good carts and rarely break or not many people have them on BGW. I recently sold my EZGO and bought a 2013 YDRE that was fresh off the course as well. I had the cart reworked and I think it looks good and I love driving it. I had a Yamaha dealer perform a PTV upgrade to the controller which increased my speed to 19/20 mph and set the regen braking to minimum. Good luck with your new project.
FWIW---If you post in the "electric Yamaha" section, you might get better response. |

Re: 2010 Yamaha Build 48V Electric
Thanks Olman, I was wondering if that would have been a better place to post but was nervous because it said repair!
I liked the looks of the yamahas and from what I could tell they were pretty solid carts. I just put on my rear seat yesterday and did a quick underbody clean, was pretty impressed with how little to no rust was under there. I was also happy to see the yellow sticker on the rear axle (which I read on some models the white is a potential problem) lots of good inspiration out there, I think first order of business will be to replace the batteries and change over to the 6-8 configuration performance before beauty! |
