Controller Mapping

Ok so I have an Alltrax XCT500a controller on my 2010 Club Car Precedent and I am about to get an upgraded motor. My question is:

Would I be able to let's say have Alltrax create me like 3 maps?

1) for the speed and a little torque

2) for maybe mid speed, even torque and speed so to speak

3) one for mostly torque let's say for when I go off road.

So I could just plug and play with the 3 on my cart using my PC and change up my carts performance

No. The correct map is the correct map for your particular motor.

From what I can tell, altering maps/controller settings outside of the one appropriate for the motor simply limits things like torque and speed. The ability of the motor is determined by how the windings are configured. Certainly you could reduce your speed in a "torque" application but cutting back the speed wont give you any more torque than the motor/controller are already capable of, as this is essentially already at its maximum at all times.

Ok I was thinking that you could adjust for more torque or speed

The NEW Madjax Torque Controller is a "Game Changer" when it comes to on-the-fly control of your golf cars performance.

In hilly terrain, adjust the torque higher and shoot up that hill.

On flat ground, adjust the speed and roll down that road.

The Economy Mode allows you to stretch battery life even longer.

The lockout feature allows you to lock the settings of your car in place.

The technology used in this controller is super efficient again allowing for extended hours on your battery charge.

just sayin,...

Sure you can have different settings, anyone familiar with motor mapping would know this, never go below and to the right of the map, above and higher is torque, this may not be (will not) be the most efficient for battery life. Also to much is going to be heat so either testing or someone who knows the motor should be in charge.

Talk to alltrax. They email me the map for D&D motors and others. Just tell them what you have.

Thanks yall, I just ordered my custom motor from EMP, and they said they and Alltrax would provide me with the 3 different maps. Yes I will leave the mapping up to the Pros

Re: Controller Mapping

A problem I have seen with the madjax control is the operator is able to select the field current for the driving conditions. This leaves room for user error that will result in seriously damaged motors as we have seen here on BGW

Re: Controller Mapping

As far as I know, Alltrax doesn't allow anyone to make their own field maps. I would love to know how to make my own but I doubt they will share that info since you can do serious damage if you don't know what you are doing.
