Wondering about Fairplay cart

Hey I was wondering if anyone knew about this fairplay legacy golf cart. I was looking at it and it looks like a pretty cool cart, especialy with the design inside and out. It also has features like an AC motor. I was looking at some company information and I believe that the company has moved from china to the US, and I think quality may have improved. The price has also increased, so it isn't a great deal if you check any of their pricey options, although it still looks pretty nice. I believe the frame is an E-Z-GO TXT clone. If anyone has driven this car can you give me some information? Check it out at http://www.fairplaycars.com/plugin/e...y_2P_2011.html

The Fairplay cart was not a Chinese company that relocated to the US. The carts are basically manufactured in China and assembled in Los Angeles. The HO is in Colorado and they have slowly added more US type parts like controllers, motors etc.
The AC drive is not standard but an option and is likely the direction the whole industry is moving in.
I think they are a good cart but like anything else, your dealer's ability to maintain it and get parts is paramount.

Thank-you for that. I was still wondering if anyone had driven them, because for 2011 they changed the suspension, so I was wondering if anyone knew the difference in the ride and handling, so I know wether its worth it to pay more for the newer car. I work on golf carts so I dont think maintenance would be a problem. I want to get something for the street, that will look cool and have a firmer ride so I can take corners better. Any advice is appreciated.

Re: Wondering about Fairplay cart

Most of the Fairplay carts in past were known for a firm ride.
Only you can determine if it will work for you.
Time to test drive one at your local Fairplay dealer. They also make the EVE cart which is their upscale NEV.

Are parts and stuff readily available for the Fairplay carts?

I've seen an ad where a guy is selling 2008, 48 volt carts. He says they need some batteries because of freeze damage. He's been asking $1250 for them.

Thanks.

I'm planning on stopping in there tomorrow. I bought a workhorse from them a while back. I was headed that way to pick up a shorter belt I ordered, hoping to get a little more low end hill climbing power.

thank-you for the information. I tried looking for parts for the cart and I couldn't find any. For me its just going to have to be a new E-Z-GO.

E-Z-Go, CC and Yamaha certainly have a better reputation than all the rest when it comes to service and repair.
What Fairplay parts were you looking for?

Re: Wondering about Fairplay cart

I havent seen a Fairplay sold yet that hasnt needed warranty work- They are a throw away cart. Buy one of the big three, even if it is used, its better than a new Fairpaly.
