Cushman Golfster Resto with some questions.
I picked up a old Cushman that was in serious need of help a while back.

Re: Cushman Golfster Resto with some questions.
I had to wait for the weather to warm up some, But I finally got around to paint.
The tub took a lot more work than I was expecting. The fiberglass was separating from the metal, and there were rust holes almost everywhere. body work 1.jpg body work 2.jpg body work 3.jpg body work 4.jpg hood paint.jpg |

The dash was swiss cheese with all the extra holes drilled over the years. I had some left over aluminum sheet from another project that mad a really clean looking dash.

Re: Cushman Golfster Resto with some questions.
That pretty much brings the build up to date. I have a few questions. I used the factory wiring diagram with correct color wired(for the most part). My problem is I cant seem to get power to anything. I get sparks when I connect a battery to the starter solenoid, and ground, but I can't get anything to power on.
The sparks seem to me like there might be a short somewhere, but I cant think of anything other than the rectifier being bad, and going to ground. I did move a few thing to make a cleaner look, but everything sturdy, and the wiring seems to be fine. wiring diagram.jpg wiring 1.jpg wiring 2.jpg wiring 3.jpg |

Wow! You're doing a fantastic job! That is one cool cart!
Welcome to BGW bogof! I probably won't be much help, But, I rotated the wiring diagram upright for you! I did notice something in the wiring diagram though... A ground strap (#813836) from the power frame (engine frame/pan) to the main cart frame, Is that installed? (not having one is usually a cause of a "no power" scenario!) |

Re: Cushman Golfster Resto with some questions.
Thanks.
The frame ground isn't in yet, but I'm using jumpers at the front so there shouldn't be a ground issue there. |
