Early 60s Tee-Birdie
Hi all. My name is Dan, and this is my golf cart. It is an early sixties Tee-Birdie. I bought this about 10 years ago, fixed it all up, and gave it to my in-laws to use. Well, they used it precisely once, and left it in the back yard to rot. I reclaimed it last year, and am currently in the process of getting it back up to snuff. Couple of neat things about it:
- it has a steering wheel instead of a tiller. Only one I have ever seen on a tee-birdie. - it has a top! - the trailer is very cool. Apparently custom built for this cart. Does not tilt, but rather the whole center sections drops down flat to the ground to load and unload the cart. I was hoping to share my restoration with you all if you want to see it. There are not many people who want to hear about these old carts! Dan P.s. Sorry about the sideways pic! |

Yes, it has a gasoline engine. Self starting Kohler (I think). It uses a delco generator as both the starter and generator. Think I am gonna hook up headlights and taillight on it. What the heck!

Nice. I am one of the geeks here who has a thing for vintage carts. One of these days I am going to get around to taking and posting some pics but here is what I have:
'67 Pargo (elec) '68 Cushman (elec) '85 Columbia (gas) 3 wheel (HD based) '85 Columbia (gas) 4 wheel (HD based) '87 Yamaha G1 (gas) '91 EZ Go 6 person Shuttle (elec) I have an '04 Club Car as well but it certainly doesn't count as vintage. I don't know. The new, jacked up, fancy and fast carts are nice for sure. Just not my style though. I like working on and driving around the antiques. |

I too think the trailer is pretty neat. I sandblasted it to remove about 10 layers of house paint, and have since been repainting it and replacing all the wood. Here are a couple of pictures of it in action. Piece of cake to push off or drive on the cart!
