1st time pargo owner needs guidance

I just bought a 1974 pargo and hope to find some direction to find parts to restore etc...

Well had the pargo 3 days and was offered 300 more than what I paid so now it has a new owner.

Looking at a 1996 EZ Go. Any input on this one? How much is too much, it needs new bats. I was informed it has been in th garage for the past 9 years not being used. Anything I should look over before Imake an offer.

Lots of things to look for, start at one end and go over the whole cart. Big thing is missing/loose/broken parts, leaking axle, brakes not working, corrosion in the battery tray, frayed or melted wires, rusted linkages, dry rotted tires, this is just the start. If you want the cart and the batteries are dead and it needs wires, tires and brakes, I would talk the price down as close or below 500.00. Every dime you save is just that much you will end up spending on it anyway!

I bought my 98 in super condition with new batteries and cables, fresh frame fully coated with rhino liner and excellent used tires for less than 1500.00, since then I've sunk another 1500.00 or so in upgrades and things I wanted, so I'm still under the market price for a similar package from a used cart dealer. A super easy way to calculate a good guess on what to offer is to take a look at a listing for a type of cart you want to have, subtract the cost of the new tires, lift kit, batteries, cables or any other parts that the cart you want to buy is going to need, then you have the MAXIMIM offer. If they won't deal to that price or below, go somewhere else.

Do your research and read the info in these forums, use the search button and look up your questions, chances are it has already been asked and answered by some really good folks who know what they are talking about.

Arcitech has it right by purchasing a cart with most of his wants already in place. The price of a set of Trojans and maybe a controller would set you back $1000 or so. Add that to the asking price. Look for a cart already upgraded as near to your wants as you can. Those carts, in the long run, will be the best bargain.

Arcitech Is a MORON!! Don't listen to a guy who drives a pink golf cart or tries to retrofit a VFR motor into an old westinghouse. The guy is LOONY i tell ya! Kidding... he's pretty smart.

If it already has a standard lift kit and larger wheels and tires, those kits typically start out about $400. New batteries are about $90-100 each (wouldn't trust anything over 4-5 years old). New wires $40, solenoid $25-35, controller depends on how badass... F/R switch $100ish. Rear seat $300-600. You can get the standard wheels for $30 or less.

if it has been sitting for 9 years, it probably needs new wires, at least some of them. maybe new tires...
