Old cart build & ID help
Well, I worked out a deal on an old cart and I'm hoping to start cranking into it soon. After looking all over the internet i cant seem to figure out what it is! The decal on the side of the bed says Power Cart and it has a springer front end on it. It looks to be in pretty good shape since it's been sitting in a barn for a LONG time. Below is the only pic I have of it right now but I'll take some more/better pics this weekend.
Do you folks have any clue what this is? |

Re: Old cart build & ID help
Looks like a cool toy, almost looks as if it has mini bike controls?

That's what I thought too. The closest thing that I can come up with is a Heald Hauler but there's a few differences that dont match up, like the springer front end, the smooth/smaller front tire, etc. I guess I'll find out more once I tear into it!

Re: Old cart build & ID help
Well, finally figured out what it is. It appears to be a "Farm Scat" made by the Snow Corporation (Snowco) in Omaha. Kinda crazy thing with a motorcycle style throttle & all. This is gonna be a fun little project! :) I'll have more pics posted on Monday.

Re: Old cart build & ID help
Sorry for the delay on everything. This cart was given to me after helping a buddy do some work on his farm, so I just finally got around to digging into it and taking a better look. Below are a few photos of the cart including a scan of an original ad for these things. It's been sitting in the barn for 15-20 years untouched but it ran well when they parked. First order of business is going to be to replace the gas tank, hoses, etc. and see if she'll turn over on her own. A couple of things that I find really interesting about these things, is that they have a motorcycle style throttle and that the rear brakes are each controlled individually for better turning.
This is going to be a slow moving project considering that planting season is coming up soon. Hoping to have her running by 4th of July though. Let me know if you guys have any advice or ideas for me. Thanks! |
