Default Early 70's Caroche V-Glide

Hello all, really diggin all the info you guys are passing back and forth. I have a question......just picked up a older CC Caroche (serial number says it was made in 71' but the guy I bought it from called it a 73'.

Anyway long story short I wanted to know if anyone can tell me what to expect before I take this v-glide off and open it up......read on a post that the contacts could possibly need some work. Just didn't want to get myself in any trouble since its probably impossible to replace?????

Any info at all would be great....1st cart and fell in love with the classic style, plus my kids love it!

Is it the little silver box with the red end cap?

If so u can buy them new.

Nothing to them just several micro switches inside it.

If not then this.

Never seen that one before. I bet though if you take it apart it's just copper contacts inside. Clean them real good with sand paper and clean the wire connections good. There should be a contactor that slides on the stationary ones also make sure it slides flat across them. The flater it is the better contact it makes. Over the years it has arched and has burnt marks. U may could change it over to a newer one.
