I would have to guess that it's a BV18. If so you can get knock off's cheap on E bay. If it's a special carb of some sort. I'd just measure the bolt spread and start looking for one that fit and be ready to tinker with it..

If he has the carb, why not buy a rebuild kit for it. It appears that it is a Tillotson HL279. Rebuild kits are still available for that carb.
