Default Trying to motivate myself to finish 84V build

In August of 2013, I picked up a lightly used 2008 EZGO TXT. As with my last build, I completely gutted out the cart to the bare frame and started tossing away parts left and right. Then I started building it up my way

Along the way, I had to learn to teach myself how to weld, roll and bend tubing and fabricate things. That also meant buying a new welder, tubing roller, tubing bender, etc, etc and then using those to make more tools.

Anyway, I went hot and heavy for about a year… accomplished a fair amount. Then other things got in the way. Lots of travel, an interest in learning watchmaking (including spending a mint on all the tools) and being recruited to design and build some "Goosebuster" radio control airboats for my country club.

So…the cart has sat there for 3 months now. I decided I need to get motivated to work on it, and the easiest way is to post about it in hopes that everyone will egg me on. Here is a quick pic I snapped of it today so I won't get the "this thread is worthless without pics" comment.

This is with the cowl and windshield off as I am now working on the front bumper and shock cover. So far, this is what I have done:

Air suspension
4 wheel hydraulic disc brakes
custom battery and subwoofer tray
custom HID headlamps complete with angel eyes
the most kick *** stereo I've ever heard in a golf cart. Amazing what can
come out of a pair of speakers and a subwoofer
Custom built 13" wheels from the UK
Custom roll bar
Custom short windshield
Custom built PRP seats and platform
on board 12V battery and charger for peripherals
LED taillights and back up light
changed gearing to 10:1

and the piece de resistance… 84V worth of Nissan Leaf Cells in a custom
enclosure with mini BMS and onboard charger!!!

Still have lots to do…

Finish front bumper
Finish wiring
Body work
Paint…. going to try plastidipping it

and Finally, the motor…. AC12 from HPEVS. My calculations show it should see the other side of 40!!! My cart now does almost 30, but it seems a bit on the slow side at times.

Anyhow, I hope my little post will get the blood flowing and I'll get back to work. When I finish, I'll definitely post some pics.

That thing is ridiculous! Plus you are lucky enough to have a indoor spot to work on it. Looks like the hardest parts are done, or nearly done......Do it.

I only count 11 battery modules (odd number?). How are you getting 84v?
