Default how large is your air ride tank?

Im adding air suspension to our river cart, and im don't know which size air tank is best.

Parts list:

Monroe air shocks
vivair 444c
a pair of dual needle gauges
Little Larry's manual fbss switch panel
3/8" supply lines

I was going to run a 2.5 gallon tank, but I think 5 is a better choice.

Thoughts?

I have a 1 gallon tank on my PDS. I don't think you can drill the shocks for any larger than 1/4" air lines.

In your experience:

Do you think the air tank size makes s significant difference in air down time with the manual valves and the 1/4 " lines?

Do you think by using a 3/8" to 1/4" reducer at the shock to run 3/8" lines makes air up/down quicker or think it's even necessary?

i run 2 gallon.
you only need 1 dual needle gauge.
i think the 1/4 inch line definitely helps. down is pretty quick on mine fill is a little slower due to my tank size.

I don't think upping the line size will make a big difference because it's being choked at the manual valve. It can only let so much air out at a time. Especially if you are running two valves for the whole cart. Both the front or the rear will be both trying to evacuate out of a 1/4 hole in the manual valve. To get more speed you will have to either do 4 manual valves to open up that path or do electric valves and mount them closer to the shocks. You can do 8 electric 3/8 valves and it would make a world of difference. With electric valves you would need 2 per corner (1 for up and 1 for down)

What size tank you decided to go with ? I am in the hunt for a small tank but big enough to air up 4 monroe shocks at once.

gc is on the back burner while I add on to our house.

However, I'm going with a 3 gallon tank.

I am using a 2 gallon tank and I don't have any problem with airing up all four shocks at once.

How many times you can air all 4 before compressor kicks on! I'm leaning towards a 1.5 gallon tank with a viair 100c compressor.
