Default Advantages to power converter over an auxiliary battery.

I'm new to the golf cart world. I looked for this answer but haven't found it. I'm trying to decide if I want to add an auxiliary battery or a power converter. From people who have been through this before what are the advantages and disadvantages of both.

A DC-DC converter will be much lighter and does not require a separate charger where an Auxillary battery still acts as a drain on the main motive batteries as they then have to move the extra weight around.

converter is the best choice ... simple install ... can be placed just about anywhere in cart

I had thought about the power you are robbing from your system, but had not taking the weight of the additional battery into consideration

My 2 cents, converter is a once and done, no maintenance.

i have a aux battery and rather drive home with no light because radio was left on then have to push it home. Another battery depending size could add 50 lbs to the carts weight, no big deal. I use a small battery tender to charge it and attached it to my CC charger cord . so when its time, i plug them in at the same time.
