Do you think the plastic where your cut out is would be ok for supporting them or do I need to reinforce it some how?

Unless they are very heavy( like over 25lb each) it should be fine. Just reinforce the bolts with big washers to prevent tear out in possible rough terrain. The plastic is about 1/4 thick there so its pretty sturdy.
