1970 Cushman Project
I thought I'd share some pics of the 1970 Cushman that belongs to my dad. It was the first cart in the neighborhood several years ago. Now that there are several newer models in the neighborhood, we thought it was time for some TLC for the old faithful Cushman. So far we've been able to take our time, have a few beers, and make some good progress.
This is what we started with. Not much to look at but the newer Trojans move it along nicely. We're no body men by any means. It seems to coming along slowly. We got the rear primed first. We then focused our efforts to the front. The front left had taken some abuse from the previous owners. We're still working on getting it straight. We've got the body work around 90% complete. We need to finish some final block sanding and water sanding on the front. I picked up some scrap stainless steel plumbing fixtures from an old building at work and began working on some "custom" kick panels and dash cover. We're going for the traditional hot rod / rat rod look. Our plans call for flat black paint for the body and silver/country chrome for the bumpers, rockers, and baby moons. We plan to paint the steel wheels blue to match the seats. I'll keep everyone posted of our future progress. coal_man |

Fun to do something with dad, that will be one of kind when your done. CPP one of our sponsors sold me a set of SS hub caps that go real well with my (not intensional) semi gloss paint job.

Re: 1970 Cushman Project
Might sound like an odd question, but anyway you can take a picture of the rear axle and motor. I just bought some parts off an older guy, he wasn't sure what cart they were off of. The pedals I have look like the ones on your cart, so I was wondering if the rear axle and motor were the same. Thanks
