Input needed
Alright guys,
I need some input. I got my hands on a 2005 club car precedent electric for $250 and its in awesome shape. It just needs batteries. I like to build carts and sell them. A few years ago i got my hands on some little cars that were built in the 70s. There were only 52 cars made and i now have 15 car bodies and 2 usable frames. They are basicly glorified golf carts. The gas motor, axle and gearbox that were in one car is junk and the rest have nothing. There isnt much room to add a different axle and motor like how a golf cart is set up (only 2'x4' workable motor/axle space). So i decided to go with electric motor for my first car. My question is, do i build the golf cart and sell it since i got it so cheap to make a profit. Or do i take the ignition, motor/axle, contoller, batteries, etc and use them for the car? Inputs are much appreciated! |

Re: Input needed
You have 15 of these bodies? Will you sell any?
I would use the Precedent as a donor for one of those cars. Can you just put the body on the Precedent frame instead of moving everything over ? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Re: Input needed
How is the front suspension setup? Any pics of that?
To your point it may be 6 of one half dozen of the other. Extending the CC frame will be easy to get the wheelbase right but I don’t know how hard it would be to get the CC steering shaft at that angle. But at least then you would have something with suspension parts that are easily attainable when the wear out. I’d love to see both roller frames side by side. Looks like this is a perfect candidate for a lithium pack as well since space is limited. Wow, I really want this thing!!! Any more pics of the nose and tail of the body? This is perfect for my idea to scratch build a shifter cart disguised as a custom golf cart. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Re: Input needed
Now that’s a unique front suspension setup right there.... It’s like they grafted something similar to a go cart front end onto articulating pieces. I’m really curious to know how good or bad it works. Nice to have 3/4 turn lock to lock but I wonder if the steering is super heavy as a result since it’s significantly heavier than a go cart. Interesting....
With that said, if it was my build and I just wanted to use it like any other cart (I.e. not my speed demon dream cart to smoke miatas at an auto cross) I would put both roller frames side by side and see if it’s feasible to get the CC steering column at that angle and stretch it to fit the body. That way it has a much less Flntstone front suspension and a rack and pinion setup. But that’s just my opinion and you know what they say about opinions.... Regardless of what path you take it is an epic build!! I can’t wait to see how it unfolds. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Input needed
Upon further inspection of those pictures it looks like the steering has a gear reduction so it may not be that bad to live with. And that is an insane amount of negative castor. I wouldn’t be surprised if that original frame actually drives pretty decent. Wonder if you can source new bushings?
Do you have any more info on the back story on these things? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Re: Input needed
I figured ill start with the original front suspension. Then i can always adapt from there. Hopefully depending on motor/axle have one running soon
