Default Signs of a bad compressor?

I bought a fully custom golf cart (EZGO steering, Yamaha running gear, air ride, etc.) and the air ride is giving me trouble. There are two small compressors going to two 2 gallon tanks. There are separate switches to turn them on. One compressor stopped working and found that it blew a fuse. Replaced the fuse. Now neither of them are able to run long enough to fill a tank, and when I flip both switches neither compressor will work. They sound like they’re struggling to give their last breath. I may have multiple issues here. There are 6 Trojan batteries and one Duracell which I believe may power the compressors and Bluetooth. I’ve never had anything bagged before. Can somebody try to point me in a direction to troubleshoot this? I was going to get a Viair 444 to replace these small compressors, but I may have an electrical problem. Also I didn’t see a drain for the tanks so they may be holding water.

Do you have a wiring diagram for your current setup? I always start with the basics. If you put voltage directly to the compressors do they turn on?

I’ll draw one out this weekend. I took circuits in college but I couldn’t do a computer rendering to save my life now. Right now I can tell you the switches have three prongs on the back. The grounds come off and go into one, as do the accessory power going back to a power reducer(?) from 48v to 12v and directly to one of the Trojan batteries. So I guess that changes my original theory that they were powered by the Duracell. The third prong goes out about 6” to a 15a fuse, and I assume on to the compressors, but I really need to follow those back because I can’t wrap my head around what I see on the compressors. I know it can’t be right, but all I’ve seen is a power and ground going from one housing into the other with nothing from the outside coming in. A hose coming out obviously. I need to chase down the power wire coming from the switch to see where this wizardry comes from.

If you don't mind me asking, where in Huntsville are you? I may be close enough to look at it for you.

I've seen compressor switches that were connected on the positive side and some on the negative side. The key is going to be tracing the wires and see which way this one was setup. I'm running a dual Viair compressor setup on the positive side myself.

Do you know how your pressure switch is wired?

Basic wiring diagram that Viair puts out. Maybe this will help.

I have never considered something could be wired on the negative side. I'll really need to figure this whole thing out.

You're more than welcome to stop by and give me some pointers. I've been working on it ever since I got it.

This is the first I've heard of a pressure switch.
