Any Tomberlin owners in Virginia?
Looking for any Tomberlin owners in Virginia that have their Emerge registered. Have a question about the DMV.

Re: Any Tomberlin owners in Virginia?
I bought a tomberlin and the dmv tells me I can't get a license for it because the tomberlin registration says the body type is a glof cart. What can I do?

Re: Any Tomberlin owners in Virginia?
When you bought that electric vehicle, thats what they are sold as, you should have got a statement of origin from the dealer. You take that and proof of insurance to the dmv. That is how my neighbor did it a few months ago.

That is what I did. But the certificate of origin says the body type is a golf cart and that is where they stopped.

What's your dealer saying? They should know how to do it.

Re: Any Tomberlin owners in Virginia?
The dealer tells me that they will get a new certificate of origin that has lsv in place of golf cart.

Re: Any Tomberlin owners in Virginia?
Virginia will not register nor tag a Golf Cart. The CO must say NEV or SMV. The Dealer should have know this - but this is all new to both Virginia, DMV and the dealer. You are a pathfinder and therefore brazing new trails. The dealer has to make it right or refund your money - but Tomberlin will make it right. After that, I'd suggest that you visit the sheriff with a copy of the title and a picture. Let us know how this turns out

Re: Any Tomberlin owners in Virginia?
The dealer happened to be a car dealer with dealer tags. So they called Tomberlin and they sent new CO's that stated the body type as low speed vehicle and everything went thru with no problem.
