Unhappy Insurance for Street Legal Carts in Florida!

There are many street legal carts in Florida, mine included, and we all say we have insurance on them. But the problem is that ALL major carriers are really giving Golf Cart Policies that state on the actual policy "OFF-ROAD Vehicle. This means that if your vehicle is a street legal cart and you are on a Legal Street you're actually NOT insured. Don't kid yourself if your agent told you otherwise like mind did at first. The actual underwriters came back with a NO when I demanded an Insurance CARD stating OTHER then Off Road. Seems they we happy to take my money knowing that they wouldn't be liable if something did happen, after all the policy does state Off Road which is equivalent to an ATV, etc.

My question is who has an Insurance "Card", not a policy declaration page, showing their Florida Street Legal Cart with VIN, Yr, etc. as well as the insurance company. If you do have one with an insurance company could you please take a picture of it and post it here as well, (blocked out name and VIN is fine,)? Again I'm asking for Florida. For example I'm aware that Geico can write insurance in a couple of states, just not Florida.

Any help here is and will be greatly appreciated by myself and others that have Street Legal Carts in Florida.

Thanks and I hope so too OBill.

I've called Farmers and asked about insurance for my 2009 ASPT. He has to call his underwriters and I won't know until Monday.

The agent did state that he has coverage for a "Golf Cart" but wasn't aware of coverage for a Low Speed Vehicle, (in other words he's got Off Road Coverage.) Mine's no longer a 2006 Club Car and has a Florida assigned VIN. If you look at your card it shows 1996 CC along with the CC serial number for your year, 1996. My title and registration went from that 2006 CC to a 2009 ASPT once I had it inspected and titled, so I hope they do both.

Thanks again for the lead on this...

That's really interesting. I wonder if the farmers bureau is like ALFA here. Alabama Farmers Association. You join the farmers assoc. and you qualify for BC/BS health, auto and home insurance at the farmers group rate. I pay $25.00 a year for membership and then I qualify. Probably similar.

If you've read the thread completely you'd see that's what has been discussed and what I've been talking about all along.
I have a title... my cart is an LSV... (see my signature,) I CANNOT get insurance from anyone at this time as an LSV. I've gone a step further and even explained to insurance agents exactly where to find the rule on writing insurance for LSV's:
In the state of Florida under the FAJUA manual it's under Document: 15. Special Types-FL JUA, Rule 101. Low Speed Vehicles, (LSVs.)

I think that's going even further then just mentioning it's and LSV.
