Default need help making first purchase

hello all. my names chris, im 24, from miami, and im looking to buy my first cart / car (not sure how that goes yet). i attend alot of car shows and want something that i can use to get around. i dont know much about carts so im hoping you guys can give me some sugestions. im on a very low budget so i want something i can pick up for cheap but something that is some what modern or can be upgraded cheaply. i plan on bagging it, adding a system, and some wheels. i need something that has some decent speed as well. thanks for the help.

First off, WELCOME.

Second, are you leaning more towards electric or gas?

Cost will be relative to how much of the work you can do and how much you have to farm out.

If you want it to lay frame, look for one that has a steel chassis to begin with.
From my experience a lot of the newer carts have an aluminium frame.
My cart's frame is all steel tube, so it made it a little easier to work with.
Having said that, I had to remove the entire rear clip from the motor back and start from scratch.
Check out my build up if you're interested, and hit me up if I can be of help in anyway. There aren't many carts out there that actually lay!
