Default Lowering EZGO Freedom build

I just acquired a 2003 Ezgo Freedom this weekend. I am going to lowering it with airshocks. I have been putting together a list of items and have been learning from others on here about it. I just hope it will turn out half as good as some of these others.

Plans for now:
Lower front with hopefully 1" longer leafs like Monkey used
Monroe MA705 air shocks all around
Lower rear and move axle forward 1/2" like Hotcat did
Black seat covers
Either buy black roof or paint current one
Longer rear bumper
Peel off decals and pinstripes
Take off all "golf" accessories and scuff guards
Undecided on wheels, really like the SS212 but want them tucked under the fenders

Future plans:
Going to 48 volts with Alltrax controller, it needs new batteries, but I am going to run these until I get money for 48 volts
Build rear seat
Paint the body

I dont really want/need an onboard air compressor or tank right now. I'm new to air shocks and don't really now how to let them out once they are filled and how to control ride height. Any suggestions? I will have lots of questions later. Thanks

I am in a waiting process for parts and more money right now. Might be a couple weeks before I can start. I got a pair of the air shocks in last night. Is there any reason not to use the air lines that come with the shocks? I just plan on using the shocks with a shop air compressor right now. An onboard compressor will probably be in the future.

So far I have the shocks that need to be painted and the 2x2x1/4 tubing that needs to be cut. Getting some more u bolts from Fastenal today and ordering the base plates and more shocks on Friday. Monkey is working on the front leafs right now. Big part will be waiting on money for the wheels/tires.

Hotcat, do you remember how far back you drilled those two extra holes for the u bolts on your base plate? And was your tubing 5" long?

Did you have to grind the tubing to get the u bolts around it?

If you put the shackles up against the isomounts, the holes should be spaced out the same as the stock isomount holes. (thats why I keep saying you should really be in the middle of doing this for it to make any sense.)

OK, OK. The u bolts should be here friday, Fastenal had to order them. I will be ordering the rest of my parts Friday along with wheels and tires. I am going with the SS312 and tires I think 205/30-12. I wanted the 215/35, but there is a big price jump between the two and I'd rather save for something else.
