Front License Plate

After an amazing bureaucratic battle, I got my Club Car authorized for limited road use in Ohio.

Unfortunately, OH requires front license plates.

Most people with stock front end bend the plate and jam it in above the bumper, which looks crappy. I chose to buy a frame and drill the bottom of the frame into the bumper, and that doesn't look much better.

Has anyone fit a plate to a DS without trashing the looks of the cart?

Why don't you post a pic of yours and maybe someone can give you some ideas.

Now that you have the holes drilled and the plate mounted, take the plate off and leave it in the bagwell.
When/if you get stopped, tell the officer "sorry, it just fell of and you will get it on asap".

I was tempted, and under normal circumstances that's exactly what I would do, but this is an island resort town known for excessive drinking and not co-inidentally, a watchful and aggressive police force. I want to avoid extra attention from the guys with guns and handcuffs.

I would start looking at all the cars you see.
Some use plastic spacers on the front bumpers
for plates. May be you could use one cut to fit and painted to match your cart.

Inside upper right hand corner of the windshield. Attach a couple of rails (one to the windshield and the other to the roof frame) to allow sliding plate in/out when necessary.

I know you already drilled a hole for your frame, but could you not buy a longer bolt from which holds the front bumper on and just use a sleeve to pass the bolt through to help hold the bumper on, which in return would allow you to attach the license plate? You may need to put a washer in front and back of the sleeve but it's just and idea, I will need to look at Sinker tonight when I get home and see how things line up.

Oh yeah, I left that out. I tried to install a mounting bracket to the bumper using existing holes (since they don't line up the the holes in the plate), but the drivers side screw is corroded and since the bumper is in bad shape anyway, I didn't mind drilling into it.

That would've been more secure, but the cart would still have that "bulldog underbite" look with the top of the plate jutting into the air.

I think a custom bumper will be the final solution. I'll live with this until I feel like drilling out that screw and forking over more cash.

We dont need license plates on carts here good thing. Maybe a motorcycle plate would look more proportionate?

I just got mine registered in Vermilion Ohio, but am still running my temp tag..I too am wondering the best way to display this huge looking plate on a tiny car.
I see you are in Put-In-Bay..Is it legal to run my cart there?
