Default Which to buy? why..?

im looking for a used gas cart to make street legal. i know that the law is 25mph or whatever but im going to go faster.

im a fourwheeler guy so i really dont know about that much about carts.

which carts are easiest to mod but still remain durable?

which carts should i steer clear of?

Im not on a big budget so which would be the most economical?

what kind of mods am i looking at for speed?

whatever it is it will be lowered. probably on air.. any easier to do than other?

sorry for all the questions.. thanks in advance though!

Your words, and I quote.. "i know that the law is 25mph or whatever but im going to go faster." My only advise is to be carefull with speed. Golf cart suspension was never intended to go fast. They get very unstable at much higher than stock speeds. Roll very easily. And speed modified golf carts that are street legal will eventually be the end of street legal carts. More accidents and laws broken. These faster and more dangerous street legal carts give law following street legal cart owners a bad name. This problem is happening at campgrounds also. Do us a favor, if you want to go faster than the law allows, keep it off the street and out of the campgrounds. I know this probably comes off a bit harsh, but I witnessed a pretty bad cart wreck at a campground last year by an adult with his wife and two kids on the back. Going way faster than the cart should have been able to go. All were banged up pretty good, no serious injuries, luckily it rolled just off the gravel drive. I later heard the campgroung banned golf carts. So please, have fun, just be responsible, and dont ruin it for the rest of us.

Well I had a feeling I'd get that kind of response.. This is not my first time driving a cart. And this one would be built. I'm talking low stiff suspension, links, high performance rod ends, roll cage and a good harness. I'm know the danger. And I'm not talking dropping a 1000 in it and taking off on the interstate... I just need about 40-45 out of it for small periods

Thanks for the concern but I understand the risk. And maybe I came off like I was more deliberately braking the law but actually i knew Simone would say something about the 20-25 law but currently Mississippi does not have that law

It's all good man!

I will post pics if this idea materializes.

It's not looking so hot because I discovered that not only does Mississippi not have any laws restricting speed of LSV's, they don't have any laws at all... But they don't have any prohibiting them! Haha so I'm going to try my hardest before I invest any money.. I'm going to call the DMV and try NOT to say golf cart and see if they'll let me do something... I doubt it but I'm gonna try.

Where I live, for a couple years there were no laws regulating golf carts, thus no laws restricting them either "only quads and dirt bikes". So people used them on the roads with just an orange triangle on the back. Then the city decided to regulate their use and made the people pass an inspection plus have them registered and insured. I think they saw some $$$ in it for the city. We have to pay 25 dollars for an inspection and full price for registration and plates "50 plus bucks". We are only allowed on 25mph streets and can cross other speed streets. To pass inspection we had to have a impact resistant windshield, headlights, tail lights, turn signals, brake lights, horn, licence plate light, and rear view mirror. What a pain in the.... wallet !..lol But, they are safer now because of it all. Before the new laws some people were riding around at night with no lights or anything..a little scary. So far there are only 11 registered carts in my town, and I havnt seen any of them. Kinda lonely here..

Have fun with your cart. I think an ezgo would be good for you because they are usually cheaper to modify.

i think i have decided IF i could get it registered.. id go with ez go...

it would be really easy to just add air shocks.

i found one for 2500 but i got really disappointed when i talked to a cart shop today and he was sure that i couldnt get it registered in MS
