Default Need Help Choosing Golf Cart

Hey everyone,
I live in Washington State and in order to get a golf cart registered as an NEV it must have been originaly manufactured as one by the company. Im having a hard time figuring out which golf carts have the 17 digit VIN number so i can register one for the road. Even a totaled or wrecked/ broken cart would work for me because i have a Columbia Challenger that i can use parts off of. I really just need a Vin and title for it. Can anybody point me in the right direction?

-Thanks, Matt

Well, I know for sure that GEM (Global Electric Motorcars) Cars have VIN numbers, maybe the Club Car Villager? I'm sure that if you put the regular cart's serial number as the vin, they will accept it. That's what my title says.

i went down and asked about it and they said it needed a 17 digit vin. Is there anyway around the vin number? could i take the serial numbers off of my columbia challenger and claim it was home made or something? im currently restoring it and painting it so it will look brand new when im finished.

Are you asking if there is a legal way around the VIN law???? Buy a new cart that has a VIN.

Everything else is a shade of grey...i.e. Shady!!! You could just put the orange triangle on the rear, and some big lug tires and claim it as a farm vehicle....if you think the police are going to give you some extra attention, then you need to keep everything honest. How much time do you expect to drive on the roads? Occasional beer runs and a quick trip to the strip club shouldn't be a problem

We have the same problem here in Illinois... And only the new purchased vehicles with vin numbers are licenseable here in Illinois. But I have been driving on the streets for about a year just follow the laws and pray for some discretion when you pass the cops
