Default Little air shock help please....

Just wondering if any of you have run 1/4" air lines to the Monroe shocks that are being used on the EZGO's? Got my compressor/lines/valves etc.. today but not exactly sure about the connection to the shock itself. I know some guys have drilled out the fitting and I can do that with no issue. My question is the actual attachment/sealing of the line. The stock lines are attached with a plastic nut and an o-ring. Do I just drill out the nut and use a bigger o-ring to fit the 1/4" line? Too bad that Monroe didn't make the threads a pipe thread on the shock fitting. That would have made things much easier. I have a couple of ideas but just wondering what others had done to solve this issue.

Are the air lines on the Air Lift and Firestone air bags any larger? They connect to the same size fitting as air shocks when you fill them.

They are. The fittings for the 1/4" lines are completely different than the spaghetti lines that come with the air shocks. All the 1/4" fittings that I have are pipe thread push locks. The air shock is it's own animal. The inside of the fitting on the shock is to small for the 1/4" lines. Drilling that out is not an issue but the threads on the shock fittings are not pipe thread.

My local parts store had reducing couplers
That worked for me on Fords goofy air shocks.
I added a pump instead of the schrader valve.

Wish I could help Terry, but I'm still running the Ford 3/16 lines. I recall someone making a post not too long ago about what adapters are needed to run bigger lines.

Here you go, it was Monkey.

I could not find anyone that had any fittings that would screw onto the shock. Monkey has better suppliers than me. I got some 1/4 pipe stainless couplers that we'll cut in half and weld to the shocks after the original fittings are cut off. That will be a direct connection to the 1/4 push lock fittings that came with the compressor kit. Would have been better if I had been smart enough to figure this all out before I painted the shocks.

Edit: Well, I've found a Parker dealer so I'm fgoing to take Monkey's pics and part numbers and head over there later today!!! Thanks HC!!!

A trip to the Parker store and $11 later I'm good to go!! I'm taking some pics along the way on the shock deal and I'll make a specific thread just for the 1/4" conversion so it'll be easier to find for the next guy.
