Default So, I'd like to tilt my sport windshield back a bit....

More like just bend the uprights so the windshield has a bit of rake to it. I thought I'd just pop it off and get Bob to bend the uprights. He has a mandrel bender. Problem is, the distance between the lower brackets and the cross member is too short for the mandrel bender. Any ideas on how one would go about doing it?

You could pie cut the uprights and tig them back at the right angle.

I had thought about that but was hoping that there would be some way that it could be bent.

Not really. I have the All Sports Sport windshield and what I want to do is lean the top of the windshield back. I thought I would simply bend the uprights above the mounting bracket and below the lower crossmember but there is not enough room there to do it with the mandrel bender. I'm trying to make the very straight up windshield look a little more aerodynamic without reinventing the wheel....or making a custom windshield frame.

Since the unit has that crossbar at the base of the windshield, tilting it back with a simple bend in the pipe is gonna create a conflict. The pipe needs to be cut and lengthened so that when it gets layed back there will be enough room for that crossbar.

You think that would bend it, Boke? It's like 1.25" stainless. Not sure what the wall thickness is but it's not very heavy. All Sports obviously bent the frame with a muffler pipe bender. You'd think they'd spring for a mandrel bender but......apparently not.

Pretty sure that if we could bend it between the crossbar and the bracket it would be fine without lengthening it. Just can't figure out zakly how to do that. That would actually put the crossbar just in back of the dash itself which would work if I can figure a way to bend it. Just a litle rake....15 degrees maybe... on the windshield angle would make a HUGE difference in the look of the cart not to mention I might pick up some of the 2 mph that I lost when I put the thing on.
