2007 CC DS only goes 14mph
Hello All,
I just purchased a 2007 CC DS 48v with new batteries. It's lifted 6" and has 12inch A/T tires. The dealer said it had a code in it that would make it go 19.6mph. Using my GPS I tested it when I got it home. On the hard road it topped out at just 14 - 15 MPH. Did I get lied to? Or does the larger tires hold back the speed code from giving me the other 5 mph. Gonna go back and see him if he lied to me. Thanks in advance for your replies. |

Re: 2007 CC DS only goes 14mph
Oh, one more thing. After talking to a few people I understand that the speed code should indeed get me the 20mph. Can anyone confirm this? If not I may look for a larger controller. Maybe Alltrax (programmable) I see they can be pricey. Any sites known where used or refurbished ones are sold? Thanks again for any help given.

it should have, i had it done to my dads cart just before i upgraded the controller, motor, and wires. we put 23in tall tires on his and it get up to 35mph now. before the controller, motor, and wiring, we could hit 23 all day long.

i almost forgot. you more than likely have a IQ cart. you might should get someone that really knows what they are doing with a club car to look at the throttle output. dealt with that issue on my dads cart, we couldnt get anyone around here that knows what they are doing with a club car to look at it. so, i ended up taking it to see Robby at Plum Quick. he had the cart figured out very quickly

Re: 2007 CC DS only goes 14mph
Thanks. That's interesting. I will contact the dealer I bought it from. He seems like a good guy and told me to bring it back if there were any issues. He also put 19.6 mph on the paperwork when I bought it. He gave me a two year warranty when I bought it so I'll give him a chance to make it right. 23mph would be fine with me. I'm not looking to get 35mph, but 20 would be great. I just use mine for easing around the hunting lease. Maybe in the future I will move on to the high spped stuff. This thing is stock except for the lift kit, and the supposed speed upgrade. Since I just got it I'm interested to see how far it will travel on one battery charge. It's got brand new batteries, and Oh yeah, it's an 07' I/Q cart. Any predictions on distance on one charge on level terrain?

Not sure on the distance. I know we have had tons of trouble with his cart due to it being a IQ cart. Seems from what I have learned about the IQ cart, they not big fans of big tires and high performance. I will highly recommend upgrading the cables.

It has one of plum quick's motors and a 500amp GE controller with 2ga welding wire. It also has 23" tires. Not sure of its range because it does not like the big tires. Causes the controller to over heat a lot. From what I've been told I need to pull all the IQ stuff out and set it up like a series cart

Re: 2007 CC DS only goes 14mph
I just saw a post that gave me an idea. Could it be the throttle adjustment itself? The post said the throttle may be manually adjusted/set so as not to give full speed. I do notice that the cart does not move until the pedal is almost fully depressed. I will check this tomorrow morning and see if adjustment is even possible. It's almost 10:00pm here in central Florida so it will have to wait till daylight. Love the cart so far. My hunting buddies are gona be jealous when they see Old 30.30 sneaking around silent when they still putt around on noisy 4 wheelers. Love my Honda 420 too, but I can see the advantage with the quiet carts. Thanks again all.
