Unhappy 14" rims clubcar precedent

I have a clubcar precedent 2005 and I golf alot and I want to put the 14" rims on it and keep the lowered look will the 205-30-14 rims and tires work. If not what can I do to use them and keep that lowered look. The issue I have is there are not alot of tires out there to support the 14" rims and still fill the fender well for golf course use help! All I can find is tires that don't meet the golf course requirements.

This reminds me of when I built my 2003 Silverado. Bear with me here... I built a brand new 2003 Chevy Silverado in 2003 with a 14 inch IFS lift (all suspension), 20x12 inch wheels, and 40 inch tires. When I did this, there was one set of tires available for 20 inch wheels on a four wheel drive. ONE SET OF TIRES! I had to source them from a warehouse, and I'm pretty sure I was one of the first people to have them on the left coast with the exception of a hand full of SEMA trucks. Now years later there are mnore options for me as a consumer.

Going to 14 inch tires on a golf cart seems very similar. The market has not demanded sufficient supply yet to cause tire manufacturers to produce many variations of tires that fit the large diameter wheels. In time this may or may not happen, but since I have been shopping for tires that fit 14 inch wheels, I keep finding more options (albeit for off road applications). Don't get discouraged here, just realize that there is a premium to be paid for being the early adopter. The reward is that you get to be the cool guy with the unique custom cart that has something no one else has. Keep looking around and if you find something let us know about it!

Thanks Kelly appreciate the response. They say that the total tire height is around 20 inches. I have measured other carts and they have 18 inch tires on a stock cart do you know what the max height of tire you can run without a lift. My next plan was to maybe only lift it a inch or so to just get the 14" rims on the cart. I gues you could lift the backend with just blocks and possibly have a new front end leaf spring made to get the extra inch or so? Thanks need help from the experts on this site.

they sell a kit i think its made by jakes lift. and what it does it put you fornt end 2 inches forward so the the tire dont rub with the cart. if you dont put this on when you turn your tires will rub. good luck

You may be able to find a longer shackle for the rear to give some lift (or fabricate one). As for the tire clearance on a stock cart, i have no idea. My cart is four wheel long travel independant suspension, 15 inch lift, and air ride. I have read about relocating the front suspension forward to give more tire clearance like custom carts suggested. Maybe someone else can chime in here and give some insight. Good luck!

Custom Carts: Thanks for the insight on that front tip I will go to jakes and see what I can find that would work perfect for me then.

Kelly: I also want to thank you for the shackle tip I would have never thought of that and that is even easier than the blocks.

If someone knows the kit number or has done this to their cart please let me know, my goal is to keep the fender wells full with tire and rim 205/30/14 without lifting and still can turn the cart. Thanks to all.

Jake's wheel offset plate. Moves the wheel 2" forward to create more room for 12" or larger tires. For Club Car G&E 1997-up DS jakes part number is 7260

Blissett,

You can block the front and rear springs of a Precedent for that small of a lift. Unbolt the spring from the front, and you will see it should be simple. Anything more than an inch is going to require a jakes front end though.......as shocks will not reach farther.

Good Luck.
