Bigger wheels tires on stock 84 g1a cart
My first cart;;84 yamaha g1a;;going to use it to pull my fuel altered drag car around pits and back to pits after a run;;;;thinking of choping roof on it so thinking keeping stock height but using hd springs because will be hauling 4 pit crew persons plus start battery for race car;;
what would be my biggest wheel/tire combo i can use? I was thinking maybe a bigger wheel/tire on rear and smaller wheel/tire on front to give cart the old hotrod look[cars from 70"s]..what size would i use then? Want to buy wheels/tires monday as soon as i know what to buy...pics be good also so i can see how they look.. One more thing;;;i don'y like the look like kuds are doing nowdays on the suv's and cars;;know what i'm talking about?they putting huge 22's and bigger wheels with the rubberband tires;;;hate that look myself;;i'm a old timmer |

Re: Bigger wheels tires on stock 84 g1a cart
These maybe over kill for what you want but they work great for the old Hot rod look in my opinion. These are regular VW wheels and old Pony wheels.
One of the first carts I did this to. This one stays at the beach house and it's 48 volts now. Here is the dragster. This was while I was changing the body out and fixing to send it over and have the rollbar redone. |

on the BU fourm you have pic of a white cart that has slicks[looks as to be maybe jr dragsters] and narrow front tires..that i think is look i'm after maybe..tore between that hotrod drag car look and the lowdown cart with nice clean 12" wheels with LowProfile tires..i replyed on pic of your cart on BU fourm as to sizes and back spacing on that cart;;

Re: Bigger wheels tires on stock 84 g1a cart
this is link to it;;really tore between lowered with 12" wheels and low profile tires or doing the drag cart look;;going to be using it at drag strip mostly to tow my race car with and get around in pits with;;was thinking about painting to match race car and do the slicks on rear and skinny tires up front[like you did on the white cart in pic of link sending you]//chop the top down as low as can go and still ride in it without hitting head//build a wing[to match my race car]and put on it;;pic of my race car be towing with cart[black with ghost flames

OK,
that's the drag cart. Just had it torn apart for the new body install. This was how it was bought. |
