And the experiment continues........
Just to prove that I really am totally eat up with having a 40 mph PDS cart, I decided that I really would try the 6:1 gear in my cart. I got everything back together last night and gave it a quick buzz around the nieghborhood this morning.
LOL....that feels pretty fast especially considering that I don't have a windshield or seat belts right now and it's 35 degrees. The cart continues to be very stable even over 40. I know that there is more left in it as it was steadily climbing when I had to let off. The longest street in my hood is only about 1/4 mile. Appears to me that it's running about 37 or 38 in the 1/8. I continue to be impressed with the D&D motor as the low end is still strong. I did the 300' test again and it's up to about 31 mph now so it's still improving even with the higher gear. Motor stayed under 120 degrees with about 5 or 6 miles of hammering it around the neighborhood so I think we are good to go there. Old guy neighbor that walks every morning was really impressed with me.........not. I'll get some numbers from the controller and some solid times and speeds when it's a bit warmer. I know that the cold is hurting the performance of the battery pack as well so who knows how fast it will go. We'll see. |

LOL... I think the plan is to get the cage done and on the cart and then just enjoy it for a while.......a long while. Seems like it's been a long project and I'll not complain about just riding for a bit.
