Cool Re: Solar panel help needed....

I use mine all day and it works fine. I have a old amp hooked up in the 04 but not in the monster cart. I haven't had any problems with either.

Personally, i would down size that amp. Im gas and have up to 16amps of charging ability and that isn't enough to keep up with those big amps. Kicker has come out with sone new amps that push 100 watts rms @ 2ohms with only a 10amp draw. They were designed for atv use that wouldn't be a big strain on the electrical system. Just something to think about, check ebay for them. I found one on there that was a factory install on a boat that was taken out because the customer went for a huge system upgrade. The guy was selling it for $50. The only thing i didn't care for was that it was line voltage only.

that is not enough amp for what i need. My amp puts out 175 watts times 4 channels. The 1400 is the max bridged output at 2ohms.

What amp are you going to use? I competed for years with car audio, i won many times using less where others used more. The loudest system i had was my last one. I used all ppi power class amps. I had two alpine type r 10's and 4 mb quart 5x8's. I also used 6 audio control eqt's. I hit a legal 154.2db using a 250w rms amp. I had only a factory altinator which was a 80amp. Point being that more efficient equipment will do more than high power, power hungry stuff. The only thing you might can do to run a big amp for a extended period of time is to run two batteries. Blue tops a great batteries, but i have used them in boats with smaller systems and killed the blue tops in about 1.5 hours.

Now i am one that never would listen to those that said i couldn't. That is what pushed me into loud car audio and the fact that i knew it pi$$ed people off . So if your going to use that amp, go for it and let us know how it does.
