EZGO PDS 36-48v conversion
Ok, after reading many threads about converting to 48v I think I am going to go for it.
What are the pros? What are the cons? So far this is the list of what I think I would need... 6 - 8v batteries 48v HD Solenoid Upgraded wires 400 - 600 amp controller New charger Anything else I may need? Also I am thinking about lowering the cart. |

Re: EZGO PDS 36-48v conversion
That covers the electronics. You might want to upgrade the braking power ... also consider 42v as a good upgrade option for the PDS drive cart. 7/6v fit under the seat and give plenty of power and neighborhood speed with the stock motor. Read > http://www.buggiesgonewild.com/elect...onversion.html

Re: EZGO PDS 36-48v conversion
Thanks ScottyB for the info, but if I go 42 Im going to wish I went 48..
BTW in the pic of the controller cover, why did you chop it in half? Could you just drill a few holes and install a 12v fan with maybe a temp sensor or something of that nature? Also, I am thinking of making my own bagwell cover. I like the trunk on ebay but I think I could make it cheaper... |

Re: EZGO PDS 36-48v conversion
The Alltrax control is potted in resin and due to it's higher amperage handling needs more air for cooling, We keep only the top portion for easy mounting of the Run/Tow switch. The remaining cover also serves as a rain hat for any water that runs down behind the seat. This is the Illustration I send out with PDS/DCS controls. You could add a fan, the new line of alltrax (SPM) controls have a temperature activated fan however, there is no record of temperature problems associated with the install shown.
